Belly Casting
Butterfly Beginnings offers this as a hobby service. This is something we have fun with and not something that is a perfectly professional part of who we are. This is why we offer this as a budget option. You will be nurtured and pampered as well as go home with or collect in a couple of weeks a belly cast of your belly with or without breasts included depending on your design choices.
What is a belly Cast?
A belly cast is a 3-dimensional plaster sculpture of a woman’s pregnant belly/body. The purpose is to celebrate and honour your pregnancy, your body and the passage into motherhood.
The cast can be decorated in infinite ways or left in its natural state, and many women choose to have it customized to match their homes or baby’s nursery decor so that it can be hung on a wall and displayed for years to come.
Pregnancy is a very special yet fleeting time in a woman’s life. Belly casting is the art of capturing a moment in time. A belly cast is a work of art capturing the bond between you and your unborn baby. It is also a relaxing and soothing time which can help solidify the connection between you and your baby before birth as you view the space you have made for your child.
When is the best time to do a Belly Cast?
Belly casts are often made between 34-42 weeks of pregnancy. This is a good time to really capture the fullest shape of your pregnancy.
Is Belly Casting safe?
Absolutely! It is constructed of high quality, hospital grade, non-toxic plaster casting strips that are safe for mother and baby.
