Processing times for Placenta Services
- Fresh Placentas are generally processed within 48 hours
- Frozen Placentas are processed within 4-7 days
- BB Doula'd Home Birthed Placentas are processed at a lower fee depending on which package is chosen. Between $200 and $275.
- 'Lotus Birth' placentas are processed within 24 hours of delivery to the Placenta Specialist. The specialist is required at the birth to support the initial care of the placenta.
- Rarely, placentas may need to be processed in your home. The fees will vary due to using your space and equipment and specialist knowledge, skill and time. This happens only under special circumstances. Processing times may vary.

Placentophagia is the process of a new mother consuming her placenta postpartum by either eating the placenta raw, cooked, in capsule form or drinking the juices from the placenta once it is cooked.

Ingesting placenta pills after birth has been reported to be useful for a new mother’s well-being and in longer term cases for use with supporting well-being through menstrual cycles. It offers the following reported benefits:
Iron- Women naturally lose a significant amount of blood after childbirth. Low iron often results in fatigue, lower hormone levels, lack of concentration and depression.
