Birth Doula Support
Craig Stevens, Supportive husband to a beautiful birthing woman and father to a new beautiful daughter
"I highly recommend Dee as a Doula and birthing coach. Early in our pregnancy my wife and I decided to pursue a natural birth. I soon realised I may not be able to provide all of the support my wife required throughout this new experience. It was reassuring for both of us to have the support, care and expertise of Dee leading up to and during the birth. The birth of our daughter was an exciting and magical experience. I was amazed by my wife's confidence and control that in no doubt was aided by the calm and focused presence of Dee."
Regards
Craig.

I have known Dionne Finnegan for almost 30 years. I have watched her raise her 4 gorgeous children, at times on her own and under difficult circumstances. These children are becoming outstanding young people with a good sense of values and morals.
Over the years I have repeatedly turned to Dionne for advice and help in raising my own three children, particularly in the very early stages.
When my first child was born, I had a great deal of trouble establishing breastfeeding and adjusting to motherhood. At almost 4 weeks of age, I was ready to wean my son, as I had been expressing and bottling him with no progress for him to attach to my breast correctly. My son was also not sleeping well and I had little idea of what to do about fixing the issues and establishing a healthy routine. I had depression, sleep deprivation, had experienced Mastitis and very sore, bleeding nipples. Dionne stayed at my home and assisted for a number of days.
I can say that it is only with her help that we did get my son breastfeeding, which was very important to me. She guided and educated me about feeding, sleeping patterns, reading babies cues and how to understand the little creatures. She provided me with tips and strategies from her own experiences and research, and her passion for this was evident even from then. Her knowledge and assistance was invaluable to me and seven years later, with my third child only 3 months old, I only need to think back and I can hear her words in my head assisting me to remember what to do when I am struggling.
Dionne was at the birth of my second child. I was extremely nervous after the birthing experience of my first child and her presence, assistance and understanding of my thoughts helped me to make the experience better than the first child. Establishing my second child on the breast was much easier than the first as I had her help from the first day.
My third child arrived in the world with very similar issues and size to my first. Again, I had a great deal of trouble establishing feeding and nearly gave up. I again called upon Dionne’s advice, and she listened, observed & suggested without imposing on other supports that I was also receiving at the time. Although I had these other supports, I personally needed Dionne’s perspective and thoughts on the issues present before I decided on the best way to overcome them.
Dionne’s advice and guidance, to date and over the many years can be directly credited to me now having 3 fully breastfed, well sleeping infants. I do not know the outcome had she not been there to help.
Dionne’s knowledge and experience with infants and toddlers behaviours has also been invaluable to me. Her understanding of the development, thinking processes and patterns of babies and children has lead me to ALWAYS pick up the phone and call her for advice in tricky situations.
I believe that all new mums need to have their own “Dionne” for help in the hardest but most rewarding time of their life.
